Highlights: The Lady Colonels played an awesome game to cap an awesome season!! The girls remained focused and tough the entire season and as it ended last night they have EVERYTHING to be proud of..a perfect Division Title (7-0), a near flawless Region Title (18-1) and a first time ever appearance for Magruder in the State Tournament. Commentary: The loss last night was disappointing to all...especially to the Magruder girls who have worked so hard all season. The most disappointing factor in the loss, however, was that we will never know whether it was a fair and square loss due to crucial field mismanagement by either the Randazzo Park officials or those from MPSSAA who were responsible for those duties. To lose due to a run obtained when the pitching mound was 3 feet beyond regulation with no recourse for protest makes this loss harder to accept...but accept we will. It is very disappointing that the officials running a state tournament did not take the same meticulous care in preparing the fields for play that ALL the players, on ALL teams took to get there in the first place.
